Martin van Maele (1863 - 1926) was a French illustrator renowned for his work in the field of erotic literature. He also illustrated H G Wells' "Les Premiers Hommes dans la Lune" in 1901, and several French editions of Sherlock Holmes.
Although the original prints are rather hard to get hold of, the erotic art of Martin van Maele received a boost in the 1970s with the republishing of many of his erotic works in "The Satirical Drawings of Martin van Maele". Copies of this book are still fairly easy to find from second hand and specialist book merchants.
